Cary, NC – The Optimus Awards, in a groundbreaking initiative to celebrate and promote the fusion of art and technology, is thrilled to announce the launch of a daily contest rewarding outstanding AI-generated artwork. Starting on Tuesday, April 16, artists can win $100 each day for showcasing their creativity and innovation in utilizing artificial intelligence to create art.
The contest, hosted on the OptimusAwards.org website, is open to all and free to join, aiming to inspire artists to explore the limitless possibilities of AI as a medium for artistic expression. The first winner of this daily contest is A Woman’s World by Lucie Hills, a stunning piece that captures a woman embracing the planet in her arms while simultaneously shattering into tiny pieces. This powerful and evocative artwork, created using the Image Creator from Microsoft Designer, beautifully illustrates the fragility and strength of humanity and our environment.
A Woman’s World by Lucie Hills
Lucie Hills shared her thoughts on her creation: “With A Woman’s World, I wanted to express the profound connection and responsibility we have towards our planet. The piece symbolizes the simultaneous beauty and tragedy of that relationship, showcasing how we are both guardians and destroyers of our world. Using Image Creator from Microsoft Designer allowed me to bring this complex message to life in a way that words alone could not convey.”
A Woman’s World is currently on display in Chapel Hill as part of an art exhibit sponsored by the Optimus Awards, entitled “Is It Art?” The piece and twenty other AI artworks are printed on aluminum using ChromaLuxe printing. They will remain displayed in the Junction at 136 E. Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill through the end of April. William Ammerman, founder of the Optimus Awards, congratulated Lucie on her win, stating, “Our goal at the Optimus Awards is to highlight the positive potential of AI in fine arts, and Lucie’s contribution beautifully illustrates the ability of this new medium to convey meaning through self-expression.”
The Optimus Awards invites artists, creators, and technologists to submit their AI-generated artwork for a chance to win the daily prize and gain recognition in the burgeoning field of generative art. The initiative seeks to foster a community where technology and creativity meet, encouraging discussion and appreciation for the role of AI in the arts.
