Thursday, May 16, 2024: Join the Inaugural WIIW Collective Conversation: Harnessing the Power of AI to Ensure Equitable HR Practice

The live event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the RTI Holden Building, 3040 E Cornwallis Road, Research Triangle Park

WAKE COUNTY, NC – Wake Invests in Women (WIIW) is excited to announce its upcoming live event on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the RTI Holden Building, 3040 E Cornwallis Road, Research Triangle Park. RTI is honored to be hosting this inaugural Collective Conversation and will provide a continental breakfast for participants. The event focuses on harnessing the power of AI to ensure equitable HR practices, featuring a panel of experienced Triangle-area organizational leaders. Check-in and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by opening remarks at 8:50 a.m. The panel discussion will start at 9:00 a.m.

Individual tickets are available for just $25. Half and full-table sponsorships are also available at discounted rates for multiple seats. The registration fee goes towards supporting Wake Invests in Women programs. Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to other designated attendees with 24-hour notice provided. Confirmed Featured Panelists 

The event’s panelists include Dr. Phaedra Boinodiris, IBM’s Business Transformation Leader, author of “AI for the Rest of Us,” and public speaker; Vikram Gulati Product Manager, Predictive Modeling at Amazon; and Trinija Martin, Wake County Deputy Human Resources Director and Sponsor of the County’s DEI Committee.

A fellow with the London-based Royal Society of Arts and a London Speaker’s Bureau member, Dr. Phaedra Boinodiris has focused on inclusion in technology since 1999. She is the business transformation leader for IBM’s Responsible AI consulting group and serves on the leadership team of IBM’s Academy of Technology. Boinodiris is the author of the book “AI for the Rest of Us” and is a co-founder of the Future World Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to curating K-12 education in AI ethics. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in AI and Ethics at University College Dublin’s Smart Lab. In 2019, she won the United Nations Woman of Influence in STEM and Inclusivity Award and was recognized by Women in Games International as one of the Top 100 Women in the Games Industry as she began one of the first scholarship programs in the United States for women to pursue degrees in game design and development. Vikram Gulati is a seasoned leader with both business and technical understanding. He is experienced in taking new Applied AI concepts into product launches and adoption by large enterprises. As Wake County’s Deputy Human Resources Director and Sponsor of the County’s DEI Committee, Trinija Martin leads the organization’s HR operations strategy at a time of growth and transformation. Trinija oversees a team that manages work streams ranging from recruitment and succession planning to organizational effectiveness, learning and development, total rewards, culture and diversity, equity and inclusion. She has over 20 years of strategic HR experience and has worked in both public and private industries for startups and Fortune 500 companies.
