Client Success Story: A Well-Received Public Relations Campaign

When it comes to public relations, one of the biggest hurdles is how well-received your news will be—whether you’re trying to get people to buy something from your business, come to an event, make a donation, or just simply interact with you. At Raleighwood Media Group, we take great pride in taking all the necessary steps to ensure that your outreach efforts are met with positive feedback and action.

One such example is a recent public relations campaign for our client Dewitt Carolinas, who announced a planned Life Time and Life Time Living apartment residences and luxury athletic club for its highly anticipated Midtown development The Exchange Raleigh. First, we had to discern who the target audience was: Who did Dewitt Carolinas want to know this news and why?

We focused particularly on local media and content producers, including the likes of Raleigh publications, news outlets, TV stations, trade publications, and more. We honed in on this particular population knowing they would be apt to share the news across their platforms, and so we worked with Dewitt to craft an informative press release that would allow those parties to craft a story, blog, social post, newsletter blurb, etc. from all the necessary information. We also included quotes, photos, and additional background information for them to use at their discretion.

After the campaign was sent, we then monitored it and reported the results back to the Dewitt Carolinas team in an attractive presentation that included links, PDFs, open rate numbers, and more useful info. The campaign turned out to be a great success, with over 120 opens in the first day alone. Overall, engagement clocked in at 59.78%, which is far above the industry standard. The press release also resulted in wonderful engagement and several mentions from local media, including CBS 17, Raleigh Magazine, Triangle Business Journal, Axios, and News & Observer.
